There are no real words that would describe how i have been effected by the news and can't imagine how he felt when the news came,,, what I can say is that I held my breath and thought this is so sad,,, I just found this man's site and am so inspired by his generous contribution to the community that he has fostered over the years that he has been doing this news letter,,, I've taken the time to read many of the letters through the "clickbacks" The loveing and heart felt reponces to these letters have been all that more poinant after recieving this news,,,
Robert has alowed his readers to share in his walk along the sometimes difficult path an artist travels and others have shared their thoughts in this form. Opening up their hearts, ideas, theorys, wisdom, discoveries, with such a wonderful honesty, sometimes raw sometimes so tender,,, All contributing to the wealth of the artist community that has gathered there,,, The bravery and dignaty that Robert has shared is as beautiful as his work ,,, The lessons discussed debated and commented on are more to do with the life of an artist and the issues and not technique of how to paint yet in a very real way HOW TO PAINT as an artist, a human who does art... As I have done my lifes work in this field or profession mostly around the medium of wood and recently picking up the brushes again i have found at times it has been a somewhat lonely buissness of doughts and struggles to improve and sometimes just to carry on doing what it is i'm so possesed with,,, That brings me back to Robert Genn's pages, here i found others with the same thoughts rattleing around in their minds the same ideas, dreams, ambitions, struggles, humour, and excitment about what it is like to be a human who does art...
